Department of Hematology/Oncology
At the Charles W. Christie Cancer Center, we are dedicated to supporting our patients through their cancer journey. We practice the “team approach” to cancer care. This means that our patients’ cancer treatment plans are formed by our team of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, and chemotherapy certified medical staff. These plans are individualized to each patient. The multidisciplinary team approach to patient treatment provides a higher quality of care for both the patient and their families.
The Department of Hematology/Oncology has been recognized by the QOPI Certification Program (QCP), an affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), as successfully completing a three-year certification program for outpatient hematology-oncology practices that meet nationally recognized standards for quality cancer care. QCP builds on ASCO’s Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI).
